A form asks for JPG, but your screenshot or graphic is PNG. Export a JPEG copy and check fine text and transparent areas. JPEG is lossy and cannot represent transparency, so the result may differ from the PNG even at a high quality setting.
Convert a PNG to a JPEG copy
The preset accepts up to five PNG files, each within 15 MiB and 40 megapixels. The output is fixed to JPG.
Choose the PNG files or try the sample.
Adjust JPEG quality, then process the images.
Compare the measured size and preview, download the JPG and test it in the destination.
Transparent areas become white
PixMinto adds a white background before JPEG export. A transparent logo becomes an image with white areas, including around the subject. This tool does not offer another JPEG background color.
Keep PNG or use WebP when you need alpha transparency and the destination accepts it. Switching to JPG is a compatibility decision, not a way to preserve transparent pixels.
Inspect text and hard edges
JPEG compression can introduce artifacts around letters, icons and flat-color boundaries. Check the downloaded copy at its actual intended display size, especially for a document screenshot.
A higher setting may retain more detail and require more bytes. It is still a new lossy export. Keep the original PNG when you need exact source pixels or further editing.
Compare bytes as well as dimensions
This preset does not resize the image. The result keeps the pixel dimensions, but its byte count depends on the source content and chosen quality. An optimized PNG can be smaller than the JPEG export.
If the destination imposes a strict 100 KB limit, use that preset instead, understanding that it may also reduce dimensions. New conversions omit source metadata and do not overwrite the selected PNG.
Frequently asked questions
Are JPG and JPEG different formats?+
No. They are two filename extensions for the same image format.
Can I keep transparency in JPG?+
No. PixMinto fills transparent areas with white for JPEG export.
Does PNG to JPG always make a smaller file?+
No. Compare the actual output size, particularly for tiny or optimized PNG graphics.
