About this tool: Convert image

Choose a format supported by the destination app. PNG and WebP can retain transparency; JPG uses a white background. Conversion does not restore lost detail.

How to convert image formats online

  1. Choose up to five JPG / PNG / WebP / HEIC images, each within 15 MiB and 40 megapixels.
  2. Choose the required output format: JPG, PNG or WebP. The action button names the destination.
  3. Process the image, compare the result dimensions and file size, then download a separate copy. Keep the original.

When to use this tool

Choose the format required by the destination. JPG is useful for photographic uploads, PNG for a lossless transparent copy, and WebP for compatible web delivery. PixMinto displays the original format and names the destination in the action button.

Check before downloading

Changing an extension is not conversion. A new format cannot restore missing detail and may be larger. HEIC/HEIF is an input for conversion; it is not an output. Newly encoded copies omit original metadata, so retain the source for future editing.

A few things you might wonder.

Does changing format improve image quality?

No. Conversion changes the file encoding. Repeated lossy exports can remove detail, so work from the original and compare the downloaded result.

Can I convert Live Photos or a HEIC with several images?

One still image is exported from each file. Motion, audio, bursts and additional images are not exported. Keep the original HEIC and any paired video.

Are EXIF, GPS and HDR preserved?

EXIF, GPS and other source metadata are not copied. Output is a standard 8-bit image; HDR and wide-gamut appearance can change. This is not an archival copy.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Image processing happens in your browser. This version does not upload or store your files.

Is it really free?
