About this tool: Flip image
Mirror an image horizontally or flip it vertically. Preview the change and download a separate copy.
How to flip or mirror an image
- Choose one JPG, PNG or WebP image within 15 MiB and 40 megapixels.
- Choose horizontal mirroring, vertical flipping or both and check the preview.
- Process the image, compare the result dimensions and file size, then download a separate copy. Keep the original.
When to use this tool
Use a horizontal mirror to exchange left and right, or a vertical flip to exchange top and bottom. Preview the whole image, especially faces, lettering and directional symbols.
Check before downloading
Mirroring also reverses text; it is not a substitute for rotating a sideways document. Applying both directions has the geometry of a half-turn. Pixel dimensions remain unchanged, but re-encoding can change file size.

A few things you might wonder.
Is flipping the same as rotating?
No. A horizontal flip mirrors left and right, while rotation turns the entire image. Combining both flip axes is geometrically equivalent to a 180-degree turn.
Will a horizontal flip reverse text?
Yes. Letters and signs are mirrored too. Review readable text before using the image.
Can I remove the background by flipping?
No. Flipping changes pixel positions. It does not remove a background or create new transparency.
