  2. Choose an aspect ratio and move the crop position while checking the preview. 16:9.
  3. Process the image, compare the result dimensions and file size, then download a separate copy. Keep the original.

When to use this tool

Choose this preset for a wide composition when the destination asks for a 16:9 aspect ratio. Reposition the retained rectangle to keep the subject inside a wide frame without squeezing the original.

Check before downloading

A ratio does not set an exact pixel width or guarantee a social platform will accept the file. Check its current dimensions, byte and format requirements. This preset crops the largest fitting 16:9 frame; it does not add missing background.

A few things you might wonder.

Does a 16:9 crop stretch my photograph?

No. It selects a rectangle from the source. Content outside the retained area is removed.

Can I move the crop?

Yes. The position sliders move it along any axis with spare source pixels. If an axis already fills the source, that slider has no effect.

Is this a circular crop or background remover?

No. The output is a rectangular crop. It does not detect a subject, remove a background or create a circular mask.
